DBDW: Day 5

I did it!!!!!!!

I survived my first summer intensive in God knows how long. It started off pretty bumpy, what with my back giving out on me the first day, but I finished with a smile on my face.

I can’t wait to show my students some of the exercises we did in modern and jazz. Jamal Story’s class really inspired me. His choreography is a delicious mix of old and new jazz technique. I feel like today’s jazz classes consists of more hip-hop and voguing moves than actual classic jazz technique. Thank you Jamal Story for showing me that classic jazz still has its place in this generation.

And I also made it through the African performance. We danced for 30 minutes straight and I didn’t collapse. šŸ™‚ I did forget some of the moves, but I never stopped moving. What a great way to end the week.
